Week 7, 17th October
Over the weekend (Saturday) me, Catherine, Euan and Matt went to Alnwick Gardens to film in their maze and around their fountain. We used the maze because the connotations of a maze are to get lost and as part of our concept is the lead actor seeing his 'dream girl' who keeps disappearing we thought this would be an excellent place to film. The footage we got out of this looked really good as the gardens had many places to be able to come up with creative ideas. This week is also deadline week! Wednesday 19th is the deadline for the rough cut of video. The rough cut video is supposed to be based on the concept we came up with and a close version of what the final video will look like. On Thursday we analyzed our own videos with a professional video done by the band of our song. In our case The All American Rejects - Give You Hell. We also evaluated the other groups videos against their bands. We gave each other points that were good about the videos and feedback and what we thought we could improve on. This helped us greatly as we were able to see where others thought areas could do with improving. Our rough cut was received well by the class and teachers and even though it is not up to the standard we want for the final it gives us great confidence that we are on the right road for the final. The feedback allowed us to start planning the next steps to take, when to film and how to go about it. So we have come up with a November Calender to keep us organized in these final few weeks. As more deadlines also loom we have begun to think about digipak and advert ideas. These need to be linked in someway to our concept for our video.
