Victoria- Today I worked on getting the blog up to date and in the right order. This is something that we had discussed over week 8 (half term) based on the time scale we had left and our rough cut video.
Catherine- On the sunday, I uploaded my ideas for the Digipak and will soon get some feedback from the group to see what needs to be changed. However, unfortunately, I was off ill this day, but made sure to get in contact with the group to tell them so and to tell them that I had an idea for the film, which was to change the location of Alnwick. I thought of this because, the footage we have of alnwick, although we had good angles, the lighting wasn't to our favour, and also I just thought we wouldn't have the time to go back to the location and we wouldn't get any better lighting for it anyway.
Euan- Jordan and I discussed the idea of moving our performance location from the warehouse at Nitelites because they were too busy therefore we had a group discussion, and we came up with ideas and vicki came up with using the Priory theatre in Tynemouth so I could secure this location with my Uncle who works there and the committee.
Jordan- I finished some editing and then discussed the theatre filming with Euan. I also did some research into the history of music videos.8th November
Victoria- Today we went back to Tynemouth to re-film some footage because as a group we decided that my clothing in the video didn't seem to fit the genre and style.
Catherine- We all went up to the Collingwood monument and with the ideas of what we needed to do solidified, the angles that we got will look a lot better and I think we used what little time we had to shoot that day wisely.
Euan- Tynemouth shooting at Collingwood monument. I came up with the killer shots and Jordan made sure we had enough of the shots and we planned how we were going to edit it.
Jordan- As i edited the rough cut I had more of an idea about what we did wrong than the rest of the group. Euan had more of the artistic influence of shots, whilst I directed the actors, and told Euan what kind of shots we needed, and he then put them into practise.
Vicki- Today me and Catherine finished our compilation of all the photos we has taken during filming. We had taken so many that we decided to compile them into a short video showing what we got up to during the filming process of our video.
Catherine- Vicki and I put all the photos into a movie and had them cut on the beats along to the song Dirty Little Secrets which is also by the All American Rejects. We decided that the song would fit the theme since what happens behind the scenes can be secret. It was a good chance to show that we too could edit.
Euan- Jordan and I cracked on with editing today. This allowed us to see what gaps we had and what footage we needed to re-shoot still.
Jordan- I seen the filming with a big improvement from the rough cut. This is because we had a clearly idea of our narrative and what shots we were going for before we arrived on location. Mr Bland is confident that if the rest of the footage is like the current, then we will produce a good video.
10th November
Vicki- Me and Catherine today began another editing project to show off our editing skills. The project was based on the mistakes and laughs we had during the filming of our music video. The music on the project is another All American Rejects song called 'I Wanna'. This is to keep the theme of soft rock a continuous one.
Catherine- Today Vicki and I started another editing task of our own to just add that bit more to our skills shown. Since we had made a Photo roll, this time we decided to make a video based one, basically making our own bloopers over our project.
Euan- Today Jordan and I continued with the editing. I also had a meeting with the Priory theatre committee at 6pm to arrange what we needed and how long we would need it for. During this meeting I had to try and persuade why they should allow us to film there, they agreed to this and I managed to book the theatre between 1:30pm and 6pm on Monday 14th November. We appreciate the theatre for allowing us to use their facilities and therefore I will accredit them during my evaluation.
Jordan- I carried on editing with Euan, until he sorted the Priory theatre facilities. Then i planned what shots we would need for the next location when filming.
11th November
Vicki- Another day working on the blog. Today was about making sure our group had everything we needed on the blog and everything in the right place. As we are approaching deadline day we needed to make sure everything was there before it became to late. Me and Catherine also worked on the video project we started earlier in the week.
Catherine- I started off looking through the blog. I edited and reworded some sentences, and extended on some posts that were lacking a bit of depth with Vicki. We then went on to carry on with our outtake project.
Euan- Today I mainly did blog work but I also helped Jordan complete editing the footage what we have so far. What we have left to shoot is Durham, Newcastle (narrative) and the Performance at the Theatre.
Jordan- I carried on editing the footage today which seems to be coming together. I excited to the final cut now to see how it turns out. There were some issues with the software so things took a lot longer than expected. I will make sure all the footage is uploaded for next lesson.
