Vicki- Today I took down notes of what needed to be edited of added to our blog as our deadline for the blog is in 2 weeks.
Catherine- First day back from half term, I worked out if there were going to be any days that I would not be able to do for the re-filming of our video. We all gathered the information as to when we could film and then I put together a calendar for November, just like what I did with October.
Euan- I sat down with Catherine and got the date off the other group members of when they couldn't film. For example I cant film any Sundays in November as I have my level 2 Cricket Coaching Assessment which has been planned for 6 months.
Jordan- I showed the dates I was available, as I am quite busy as I work in recording part-time. For me, today was more of a wake up call and a brief for the rest of the project.
1st November
Vicki- Today we had our first normal lesson in a while. In this lesson we learnt about different theories about narrative and the stages they go through. Working with people from other groups we had discuss our own narratives and see if they compared to the theories.
Catherine- I think having this lesson was useful to get our own concepts and narratives clear in our heads, it really did help our group solidify our ideas with our video. I also found that our own narrative fitted in with the 'equlibrium' theory.
Euan- Today we had a normal lesson therefore doing no editing today so we sat down and as a class we went through different theories and narrative theories. Then we compared real music videos with our video and see how they compared. So it helped with how to change it and also gave us feedback.
Jordan- I learned about narrative theories and tried to investigate in how our rough cut matched with these theories. This gave me some clear points in what needed to be changed. The main point for me was that the lead singer needs to look in the camera lens more.2nd November
Vicki- Again today was another normal lesson. This was because our teachers wanted to gets us starting to think about our digipaks and adverts and what are the common features of them. We as a group have already started thinking of ideas for our digipak so this lesson gives us room for improvement to add in any connotations or features we had missed out.
Catherine- I already had started on ideas for our own digipak. Having this lesson helped see what style gets the better marks. Of course influences have to come from my research, and those links will be shown, however, it does have to be something of our own and stand out.
Euan- Today we had a normal lesson learning about digipaks and adverts, we looked at several of these and looked at what skills we could use when designing the digipak and advert. Catherine showed us her ideas for the digipak and advert, at first thoughts it looked amazing and I think that we are ahead of the other groups at this stage. We had a normal lesson learning about digipaks and adverts, we looked at several of these and looked at what skills we could use when designing the digipak and advert.
Jordan- Having Catherine in our group meant that there were some great artistic ideas. Catherine presented us with a few of her ideas for digipaks which were great. We just decided as a group what we liked and didn't like about them.
3rd November
Vicki- Me and Catherine today thought it would be a good idea to put all the photos that we had collected over our time filming that weren't really needed in posts on the blog into a camera roll to display what we have been getting up when filming.
Catherine- Having all the photos one after the other just looked boring and just made the page far too long. So having this short montage of photos will just save some space, and it gives me an Vicki a chance to show that we can also gain some editing skills along with the project too.
Euan- Today Jordan and I started editing the latest footage that we have recently shot. We cracked on with the editing and got lots edited so we are making good progress with the final cut and are on track with the dates.
Jordan- I started editing the tynemouth footage today. There were definitely some good shots there. Euan uploading the footage on to the computer from his camera. Together we decided on the takes that were good and deleted the takes that were not. Then in one of my free lessons I edited together the footage. 4th November
Vicki- Again today me and Catherine carried on with the camera roll. We also, as a group have discussed ways in which we can improve our final video. This involves me wearing slightly better clothing for the narrative so over the weekend I am putting pictures of some suitable clothing on our Facebook page so the whole group can discuss what would be best for me to wear.
Catherine- Because of the issues we were having with the nite lites warehouse, the guys and vicki knew about a good alternative which we could use for our band performance which we then went on to decide that we would film on the Monday coming. Vicki and I carried on editing the camera roll, using as many photos we could.
Euan- Today Jordan and I had a discussion about how we couldn't get the nitelites warehouse for performance, so we thought we should change it. Therefore, we discussed this with our group and then Vicki thought about using the Priory theatre in Tynemouth. We decided to use this because it would be a great location as my Uncle Tony does lights at the theatre.
Jordan- There were issues with filming in the nitelites warehouse, so me and Euan thought of some other locations we could use to film. We came up with the Priory theatre in Tynemouth and the Ymca in North Shields. In the end we figured the Priory would be better due to the 3-phase power for lighting and the size of the stage.
