Back in the 1980s, Seiga had helped with the formation of a New York based punk band, Bad Trip, which had went on to release two full length records and numerous EPs. Once Seiga began directing music videos, his rock music background brought attention from bands from the same genre, obviously seeing it as beneficial. His video for Blink 182's "All the Small Things" offered him three MTV Video Music Award nominations and he was nominated for a Grammy Award for his Papa Roach video "Broken Home". A year later he left the music video business to go into directing commercials and then onto television series.
We have decided to research directors of music videos because we thought it would help to get the same sort of style that The All American Rejects videos have. We found that in the videos that Marcos directed, the performance was it quite a close space, a good contrast of light and dark due to the lighting, and the clothed worn are casual. Through the use of analysis, we will be able to make links as to where we were influenced with some of our own ideas.
